Your choice is stored first. The ad cookies wait for Allow.
The cookie policy of an Atlanta roofing company, laid out against the clock. Down the rail: when this took effect, how long each cookie lives, and how fast a question about one gets answered.
The date on this notice
This cookie policy took effect on October 2, 2026. That is also its last amendment. When it changes, the new date goes on the stamp above and on the rail, and if the change touches advertising storage the cookie bar comes back so you choose again.
It covers garoofingandrepair.co: the pages where you read about roof repair in Atlanta, the inquiry form, and the support chat. What happens to the details you type into the form is set out in the privacy policy. This page deals with what gets written to your browser.
Three kinds of storage, and only one runs without asking
Strictly necessary. Your consent choice, and the chat token if you open the chat. Without the first, the bar would reappear on every page. Without the second, a conversation about a leaking valley would vanish the moment you closed the tab. These do not track you anywhere else and they do not need permission.
Analytics. Google Analytics counts visits, which pages were read and roughly where visitors are. We look at it to see whether people reading about a flat roof repair in Atlanta find the commercial section or give up. Off until you press Allow.
Advertising. Cookies from Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta that record an ad click and whether it turned into an enquiry. Off until you press Allow. Nothing in this category is used to sell your details to anyone.
Every cookie and storage key, listed
Lifetimes are the maximum. Clearing your browser removes all of them sooner.

The ads that bring you here, and what they tag the link with
We pay for ads today. If you searched for a roof inspection in Atlanta and clicked one, the platform added a code to the address you landed on:
- Google Ads adds
gclid. - Microsoft Advertising adds
msclkid. - Meta Ads adds
fbclid, where a campaign runs on Facebook or Instagram.
The code is a random string, not your name. It sits in the URL whatever you choose. What changes with your choice is whether the matching cookie in the table above stores it for up to 90 days so the platform can report that the click became an enquiry. Decline and that cookie is never written.
Consent Mode v2 starts every visit at denied
Google's consent mode is set in the first script on every page, before analytics or advertising tags load. Four signals are sent, all as denied:
ad_storage: may advertising cookies be written.ad_user_data: may data about you go to Google for ads.ad_personalization: may this visit shape ads you see later.analytics_storage: may analytics cookies be written.
Press Allow and all four switch to granted. Press Decline, or withdraw later, and all four go straight back to denied, on the same page, without a reload. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as Decline and keep them denied without showing the question.
Giving consent, and taking it back
The bar at the bottom of the screen has two buttons, Decline and Allow, the same size and the same weight. It does not cover the page. You can ignore it and read about chimney flashing repair all afternoon; nothing optional loads while you do.
To change your mind later, use the Cookie settings button in the footer of any page. It reopens the same bar. Your choice is kept under site_consent_v2 for 12 months and then the bar asks again.
What still works if you decline
Everything you came for. Every page loads. The inquiry form sends. The chat connects. The phone number dials. Declining does not slow down a callback about a leak or move you down any list.
What stops: no analytics or advertising cookies are written, and the ad platforms cannot match your click to an enquiry. We lose a line in a report. You lose nothing.
The platforms' own privacy documents
Once a cookie belongs to Google, Microsoft or Meta, their own rules govern what they do with it. Read them directly:
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from sites like ours at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Microsoft: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
- Meta: facebook.com/privacy/policy
